Vintage Guitars

Vintage guitars are often considered collector’s items. Not only are they icons of a bygone era, but the sound quality and feel of these instruments is often preferred when compared to newer varieties. For many musicians, vintage is the only way to go.

Vintage guitars are generally considered to be those that are more than thirty years old. Many collectors believe that instruments that were made previous to the 1980’s are of a higher quality due to the craftsmanship that was standard in the industry. However, as with many things, the preferred sound and look of an instrument is largely a matter of taste.

Some vintage guitars are more sought after than others. For many guitar players, a vintage Fender Stratocaster is the ideal instrument, while others prefer the look and sound of a Gibson. Still others prefer to seek out less well-known guitar makers such as Rickenbacker or Danelectro.
