Custom guitars are usually only purchased by professional-level guitar players. These instruments are often quite expensive and as such are hard to justify for a beginning to moderate level player. However, if you’re looking for an instrument that is specifically tailored to your style, custom is a great way to go.

Custom guitars are often built from the ground up. The body and neck can be designed specifically for the hands of the person for which it is being built, ensuring that it “feels” as comfortable as possible. Custom inlay work can add a bit of flair to the instrument as well.

Custom guitars can also be an upgraded version of a commercially available instrument. Upgrades can include a variety of components, ranging from pick-ups to tuners. Updating the wiring and electronics can also make a huge difference in sound and performance.
